It has been a month for my birthday dinner hosted by Fiona, Roxanne, Stanley, Victor, Jameson and Onglai at Korean Palace BBQ Restaurant right after our Leo Club's 1st BOD meeting for 2009-2010. If you were to ask me how is the food? One word I will tell you, SPICY!! :P Especially the kimchi soup that we ordered. However, we didn't manage to finish the soup....
(Kimchi Soup and Fried Egg duno-what) (Seriously, althought I was the one who placed the order but too bad I dont know thier names. Order based on the waiter's recommendation)
(assorted korean appetizers, PORK+SQUID+CHICKEN for BBQ)
(Cake from OngLai and Fiona was helping me to cut and distribute the chocolate mintz cake)
We started our dinner with assorted korean appetizers. Our dinner basically consisted of PORK+SQUID+CHICKEN+EGGS+ KIMCHI SOUP. Sorry because I dont know all those names. :P The waiters are friendly and frankly their service is ichiban! Thumbs up for their service and of course not to forget to say thank you for singing me birthday song too. We had our korean food in a private room. ZhangHao booked in advance that's why we can only dine in a private room. FYI, there were alot of FOC stuffs. For examples, those korean appetizers, korean tea, rice dirnk, friuits and steamed eggs (cawamushi). This is my very 1st time dining for Korean Food. Is the BEST and REASONABLE price. The most important is their service is SUPER GOOD! Not becuase they sang for me but seriously they are good in customer service!
(YAaaaaaaam Seeeeeeeeeng with the cakes)
Of course, without my lovely friends I wont be dining at this cozy Korean Restaurant! Thanks so much for the dinner. Love you guys the most. For those who wish to dine here, remember to try their rice drink. Is super nice! Althought it looks like barli drinks but the taste is totally different! :) drop by this restaurant if you wish to try Korean Food.

Present to you, the perfect man in MD 308 Lions Movement, of course is none other than PCC Jefrey Quah. As I mentioned in my previous post, he is just perfect. Can talk, Can sing, Can dance, in short he is a CAN man. Can for everything! There will not be a 2nd PCC Jeffrey Quah in my life as a Leo member. He is a talented, respectful, generous, kind and what else? oh ya, his friendliness. He is a friendly and well respected by the Leos.
See the above 2 pictures, not every visting lions wore as what was requested. It was egyptian night where everyone was requested to wear like an egyptian. By the way, I didn't wear but PCC Jeffrey Quah did. At least, he tried his best to attend the dinner with the attire that suit to the theme. He even participated in the "Best Egyptian Costume" competition and belly dance game. Perfect! Other than perfect I don't have any other word to describe him. No doubt that his commitment and passion towards lions movement are well recognised and highlighted always. He is a Lion who is old but YOUNG in his heart always! I know him since I was an alpha Leo. It has been 8 years+ when I first get contacted with him on my club's project.
(Ln Marcus on the stage too! Slave of the night :P) (1st from the left that's me) (2nd from the left, that's me) (ahKOK and 1VDG Hudson Hah aka Raymond's Father) (Penang City, CLHS and CDK leos with DC Ong Lai Peng) (group shoot before go back) (ahKOK, Marcus, Chee Keat and Him Keat)
Share some photos of the dinner which was recently held at Tanjung Bungah Hotel. For more photos, please go to my FB and check it out. Again, I would like to re-emphasize here again I'm Leo KOK SHENG! Leo CH'NG KOK SHENG!!!! :)
I was appointed to be the Emcee (master of ceremony) for recent held Joint Instllation by NCLC Penang Island and LC Georgetown Perdana at Tanjung Bungah Hotel. Emcee is not easy to be. We need to be alert for any "last minute" add on. Personally, I'm very particular on Emcee and Sound effect for an event. I'm sure everyone agree with me too. If a function without a proper music at certain time, it will be boring right?
(myself, Marcus and OngLai)
On that night, I paid RM 65 for the dinner eventhought I didnt manage to eat all the 8 courses of the dinner. I still remember I ate 1st course: 1 slide of century egg, kong poh chicken, a bowl of soup, 1 prawn, few mushroom vege, a little fried rice and 1 small ice cream potong which I "stole" it from another table. This is becuase it was EMPTY in the box when I approached my own table. They're not even keep some for me. Sad~ :) That night, I was exhausted because standing and running here and there when it came to the entertainment, game and lucky draw time. Other than tiredness of course I was super hungry and thirsty. I was expecting someone to buy me a bottle of beer as a token of apprecaition but ...end up I drank plain water at home :P No beer to quench my thirst...
(ahKOK and PCC Jeffrey Quah performing his belly dance)
Supposely, we were going for Mamak at Penang Road since I was craving for food but so unfortunately, they were closed for business at that night. damn it! :( That's why, end up plain water was the best to quench my thirst...
(PCC Jeffrey on the dance floor)
Being an emcee is not just an Emcee in any event. Other than hosting the event and ensuring everything going on smoothly, we still need to sing when there is no music plays for cake cutting and dance...of course to accompany the guests who were being "put on the stage". They shake thier body and of course I need to shake together as well to create more "effect". lol That's why, I salute those Emcee who talk a lot and do more than MC-ing in an event... In fact, they are my idol! :) Emcee and Photographer are not a right position to take in an event. It will make you exhausted...... seriously... never try never know...if you havent try any, come on try it now! Btw, thanks Zhang Hao for the drive. check out the 2 most outstanding videos below:-
(Shake Shake by PCC Jeffrey Quah, I respect him the most!)
To me, Kim Gary Member is the best FnB membership so far. It gives more than you pay for the membership fee. Other than those benefits mentioned before, you can stil conitnue to enjoy free meal voucher every year provided you pay RM 10 to get the above full set of vouchers from July 2009 to June 2010 and it also includes 50% birthday discount.
This is July'09 Free Meal- Sandwiches! I used the voucher immdiately after I bought the new set of free meal vouchers for members. It was on a few days after my birthday. So at the same time, my colleagues enjoyed the 50% birthday discount too. Due to the 50% discount limited for 6 pax and we have more than 6 so no choice, I've ordered something "budget" for my lunch. I know I wont be selected for 50% discount. That's why I ordered the below: Chicken Herbal Soup Noodles. The price is approx. Rm 7.90 if I'm not mistaken.
The noodles and the free sandwiches. However, we didn't managed to finish the sandwiches. It was later took away and I brought back home and gave it to my mum. My Mum said GOOD! I don't know how is the taste because, I was super full~ cannot take in anymore food.
For August 2009, I got free "Yin Yong Wan Tan Soup" aka dumplings soup. It was my lunch actually. I had it with a thick toast. Guess how much I paid for my lunch? Is only RM 2.00+ cheap? Yup, again i got 50% off for my thick toast. Another colleague's birthday and we used the 50% birthday voucher. This time everyone of us were entitled for 50% discount. Why? becuase mostly ordered Ala-Carte. If you order set lunch, it gonna limit you to 6 pax but not applicable for Ala-carte order. :) So, if you have more than 6 pax, remember to order Ala-Carte so that everyone of your friends are able to enjoy 50% discount!!! :)

First of all, Happy Birthday to LLN, my colleaue. This is her present from our x-boss who currently having her Business Trip in Helsinki. I was given a task by her thru Skype to buy this cake before lunch as a surprise present to LLN. We bought this Macadamia Nuts Ice Cream Cake from Haagen Dazs Queensbay Mall just now. Thumbs up! why? because we ate this after she blew off the candle. :) Overall it is nice because it is from Haagen Dazs :). Furthermore, I no need to pay any single cent for the ice cream. Just the fruits were super sour! Are you wondering how much we bought? It suppose to be RM 198 for 1.5kg but due to they are having promotion. So end up with paid 1.0kg for 1.5kg cake at RM 144.90! Expensive leh?
I went to Genting last month together with my Leo pals from Leo Club of Penang (City). We departed from Penang- Prangin Mall on Friday night. I paid RM 128 for the Bus tickets , 2 nights Accomodation (4 pax per room) and Indoor+ Outdoor Theme park tickets. Cheap? In fact, it is cheap. So what I need to spend for the trip other than RM 128 is food and casino!
(The posers- Edwin and Elvin)
Genting, talking about this amusement park other than play is still play. Everyone who visit Genting is either go for the theme park or casino. What else can we do? I know some of the visitors have their own PURPOSE! but definitely not for us. You know I know la...
This is my 5th time in Genting..It is not much comparing to others. We reached the top in the early morning. It was around 5am and we checked and took a short nap before we start our day in theme park. There were 8 of us and we had 2 rooms: Girls and Boys.
(Bumble Boat)
(Super Toboggan, look at my facial expression.. actually it was just for photo shooting effect. ZHao overweight this is the only ride he cannot take lol) (Cyclone ...they leave me alone in the backseat... i was like WTF.....I never take this ride before as I feel unsecure . Actually it is not that scary provided I got riding companions in the same unit)
(Everyone went for Spinner only RCC tak ada..I like this one relaxxxxx)
(That's me with Fi in the Beryl's Chocolate Wonderland ) (7 of us- Roxanne, Cynthia, Elvin, Edwin, Fiona, Ryan and Stanley...) (Fiona, Jobit (the little doll), ahKOK, Cynthia and Stanley @ Double Deck Carousel) (ahKOK and Cynthia on the horse) (Stanley and Fiona duno do what...)
I took a lot of rides on the day but the only 2 thrill rides that I didnt say yes are Space Shot and Corkscrew. For Space shot, I played once 7 years back when I was form 4. If you were to challenge me to take this thrill ride again, definitely I will not say yes and accept the challenge. I will rather sit down and enjoy how you scream or how you enjoy the ride. :P It looks scary when you get on and go up slowly and down in hurry. That's not my type for my age now. lol I don't why Zhang Hao can take a few rides of space shot. Imagine and see what if ......
(ahKOK, Jobit and Fi. Who is Jobit? she is Jocelyn Lee's doll)
Ok Let me list out what we took: Cyclone, Double Deck Carousel, Super Tobbogan, Pirate Ship, Bumble Boat, Spinner, Boating, 4D motion master, "Matahari", Bumper Car, RioFloat, ...that's all i think....:P At night, we had steamboat for our dinner. Other than casino, we played monopoly deal in our room too due to age limit. Not all are allowed to go into casino. That's only 4 of us. The rest were "requested" to stay in the room and continue playing monopoly deal and drink! :)
(That's me and ZHao)
The next day, everyone slept untill 11am+ and went for lunch at around 1pm. We departted at 4pm to Penang! That's the end for our fellowship trip~ this is the 3rd outing we had in year 2009 outside penang. The 1st one was at Cameron Highland and 2nd one was Kuala Lumpur.
I've attended Johnny's Wedding on 2nd of August 2009. Who is Johnny? Let me briefly introduce who is he. Johnny Loo was my Alpha Leo President. If I'm not mistaken, he was the one who inspired me to become who I am in Leo now. We had been working together when I was an alpha Leo. From a member to Alpha Leo President. I was his vice president before becoming the President. We had been to a lot of functions before. For example, my 1st Leo Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Bukit Merah and Shah Alam. If you would like to see those old pictures, try to check this link out.
(ahKOK, his wife, Johnny and OngLai)
Later, I continued my membership in Leo Club of Penang (City). This time we changed our role. I became the Leo President and he was my vice president. :) Not to forget to mention that he is the brother of Billy Loo, our club Top Secretary 2007-2008.
(OngLai, Poo, Fi, ahKOK)
Finish crapping and let's continue on the wedding dinner. As I used to say wedding dinner = gathering of old friends. I met a lot of my seniors (Johnny's friends) and juniors (Billy's friends). They are different and changed alot. In my memory, I only have thier form 2 faces but now at least my "memory" is refreshed and updated with thier latest faces in my mind. Tell you, the worst is they are taller than me now, shit. No doubt, I've to admit that I'm old. :( Other than that, I met my Seniors in Leo Club of Penang (City) too. The Past Presidents and old members were invited to attend Johnny's wedding dinner as well. So to me attending a wedding dinner is just like a gathering with friends. nice~>
(My former treasurer aka Senior, Kang leng)
After the dinner, I went to Coffee Island with Fi, Poo and OngLai to meet Zhag Hao. We played Monopoly deal card game.... That's all for the night... and I shall stop crapping now.....Lastly, my best wishes and congratulation once again to Johnny!!!
(Crowded with pilgrims inside the temple, tons of incense burning) (Releasing the caged birds to set them free) (old & young pilgrims) (the caged birds for sale)
(the devotees/ pilgrims) (Some little girls will go for ears piercing during the birthday of Goddess of mercy)
619 (Lunar Calendar) is another birthday of Goddess of Mercy aka. Guan Yin. As usual, I paid visit to the Guan Yin Temple in Pitt Street yesterday for prayer.I was alone after Sunday School craving for Vegetarian food end up I didn't take my brunch, straight away went for prayer in the temple. Just for your information, in case you have doubt on Guan Yin's birthday and wonder why there are so many birthdays for Guan Yin. Guan Yin's birthday is actually celebrated thrice annually – on the 19th day of the second, sixth and ninth lunar month. Yesterday it was the 2nd birthday of Guan Yin. :)...
You will see there will be a lot of kids going for ears piercing on this day. I don't know how to explain the story behind why most of the parents only let thier kids go for ears piercing during Guan Yin's birthday. I think they believe that Guan Yin will bless the kids if not mistaken. This is my very 1st time "witness" the process of ears piercing! Quite interesting actually especially when you see the facial expression of the kids. I wish to pierce my left ear but......
(The caged birds that are for sale and bought by pilgrims and freed to earn merit)
Other than that, there were a large number of devotees set the caged-birds free. This is one of the traditions. Buddhists traditionally release creatures such as birds and turtle to earn merit on this auspicious day. It is a graceful gesture. Don't you think so? But is expensive. A ird costs RM 5 to RM 10.... You free any caged bird before?
