Penang Chin Kang Hoay Kuan 90th Anniversary Celebration

I've attended Penang Chin Kang Hoay Kuan 90th Anniversary Celebration last 2 weeks. I'm one of the organizing committee too. This year is my 3rd year joining them for thier annual anniversary celebration. Since they are celebrating 90th Anniversary of course they are doing something better and different from the past. From the 1st day itself, they had an opening ceremony for the 90th Anniversary Celebration at own club house. Talking about the opening ceremony, it was a meaningful one as the organizing committee had invited the FUJIAN JINJIANG HAND PUPPET TROUPE from China to perform during the opening ceremony. Seriously, it was a great one I've ever seen in Penang. The most interesting one is this troupe was awarded as FIRST BATCH OF CHINA INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE. No matter how busy I was, I still manage to attend the opening ceremony as it was really worthwhile to watch. The puppet can drink, can smoke and even know how to play fire.

At night, Hui Kuan hosted a welcoming dinner to welcome all invited guests from far and near. I am one of the youth committee and was requested to attend the dinner with youth uniform-batik. This was my 2nd time wearing this batik. The 1st time was at Lions Club of Penang (Host)'s Anniversary Dinner. Makan, minum and take pictures.... That's the end of the dinner for that night.

Ok..here comes to the highlight of the whole celebration- Anniversary Dinner at Moral Uplifting Society. I was impressed with the decoration. The event planner turned the whole hall into hotell ballrooom. You can sense it from the entrance to the hall. There were more than 800 invited guests gather in the hall to witness the historical moment of Chin Kang Hoay Kuan. A lot of interesting performances were brought up on stage from China to entertain all the guests. I did not know what I suppose to help in stead I just stand still or walk around with my camera. Snap whatever I like to snap. When the dinner commenced , back to the table which I belongs to and makan. The whole dinner ended at 11.30pm, it was super late but... no choice they had to perform what they suppose to since they came all the way from China. I drove back after the whole event ended. Ok here come to another great cross regional service project in between Region 1- Penang and Region 4- Perak led by Leo Club of George Town Mutaira at St. Joseph's Home, Penang. It was held on 22 November 2009 from 11pm to 1pm. I joined them after my long hour sleep. I managed to attend at around 12.20pm. In the earlier, I was told that they help to clean up the home and do some paiting work. Frankly, I was there just to say hi to all the Leos from far and near. Of course, not to forget, other than attending this project as a representative of Penang (City), and also as the Representative from Leo District 308 B2 again. May be they are not aware of it but I always attend other clubs' project as Rep. to both of the positions mentioned above. At least I have something to report in the coming cabinet meeting. :) lol Anyway, nice meeting with the youngsters who made me 8 years younger while we had our dinner together at gurney drive a night before. Pillow Fight at Penang Times Square

Last saturday, again, I was rushing with time. Woke up in the early morning, attended Foyi Camp press conference, after that straight away went to Penang Times Square to witness "Fight for Good Cause" Charity Pillow Fight jointly organised by Catcheye.com, Region 1 Penang Leo Clubs, NCLC of Penang Island, Intereact Club, and PCGHS Rangers-

I didn't stay there for long as I had another project to attend. So in short, I contributed my lovely saturday to Leo and Foyi. I'm not the committee although I do recieve all the meeting notices. Thanks and Sorry to Tommy for not able to stay there and help for the whole event.I've taken a few shoots before heading to Queensbay Mall for Go Green Starts from Your Home Project by Leo Club of Penang (City). Thier attempt to enter the Guinness World Record for the largest Pillow Fight failed due to poor turn out. It was only 500 persons out of thier target 4500 persons as per the online news. Don't give up, at least you managed to raise RM 3000 for the St. Nicholas, SPCA and Children Protection Society!!! The whole event is full of Love and Fun.

槟榔屿晋江会馆亲子讲座及颁奖学金

I've attended a seminar workshop organised by Chin Kang Hoay Kuan (晋江会馆) Youth last few Sundays ago. Not really remember the actual date. I was one of the organizing committee. As usual, I was appointed to be the emcee for the event but end up, someone taken over without informing our youth chairman. It was ridiculous but it was fine also as I can leave early. :) The workshop is all about the history of the Association. The main purpose is to create awareness on those scholarship recipients so that they understand why they were there. At the Hard Rock Hotel Penang Swimming Pool

Quack* Quack* This is not DiGi advertisement, so don't worry! They are rubber duckies that we used for "fun" in the swimming pool of Hard Rock Hotel Penang. Zhang Hao brought these duckies along to our hotel stay and we used it for fun in the swimming pool. Sound childish? lol

More photos on our Hotel Stay at Hard Rock Hotel Penang are on the way. While waiting for those halloween photos to be posted up rigth here, I would like to share some of the photos in the pool taken with my Nokia Express Music 5800. Something to share if you are planning to enter the swimming pool. Firstly, you have to register yourselves at the counter or better known as wristband tagging counter in order to get a towel and a Hard Rock Wristband. Sound like you are entering Genting Theme Park right? In fact, it does alike. You need to make sure the wristband is with you or else you will be invited out from the pool. Different days require different colours of wristband. I got 2 wristbands meaning I entered the pool for 2 days.

For the 1st day, Fiona, TCyuan were with me in the pool. both of them didn't know how to swim so end up we play water more than swim. Fiona got a big bruises on her leg as the consequences of being rude to my butt. Hey, don't missunderstand. The whole incident started from the water slide where she did not know that I was stucked in the waterslide and she just came down without knowing that I still at the end of the slide and not in the water. That's why, she claimed that my butt is as hard as iron that cuased her back home with a nice bruises. Anyway I dont think my butt is so capable. I think she hit the swimming pool when she was on the way down into the pool.

The next day, there were only 3 of us- TChyuan and Wallace were with me in the pool. We trued the water slide again. :) I know we shouldn't but other than this, we did not have anything to play. :) After a few hours in the pool in the early morning, we back to our room and get ready for check out and lunch. That's the end of this post about the pool. Frankly, you will not find anymore fun other than swimming pool. At night, Hard Rock Cafe, In the Morning and Evening, Swimming Pool. That's it.

Laptop for RM 20 Desktop PC for RM 10

lai lai... Laptop for sales for only RM 20 and Desktop PC for RM 10...good deal right? May be you be suprised on the sales but no joke it was real. All Laptops and PC Desktops were sold at RM 20 and RM 10 respectively during our company "Get Together" Charity Sales on Laptop and Desktop PC in aid of the charity organization. This event was organised last few months back.

Don't play play, those laptops are Fujitsu and HP but they are sold without RAM and software. If you are lucky to be choosen, you need to install all tehse by your own. By the way, all these are used laptops and PC. Other than the charity sales, there was actually a lunch gathering for all emplyees in Penang plant. Our company seldom have any gathering like this. Unlike others, they will have quartely gathering and year end dinner. Ok just a short update for this event that I have participated in my current company. I dont want to miss this so that I'm able to recall my olden days next time thru my blog. :)
